Protein Nanotechnology

The Protein nanotechnology is a branch of nanotechnology that focuses on utilizing proteins as building blocks for the creation of nanoscale materials, devices, and systems. Proteins are naturally occurring, complex molecules made up of long chains of amino acids that fold into specific three-dimensional shapes. These unique shapes determine their biological function. Protein nanotechnology takes advantage of this inherent structural complexity, as well as proteins' ability to interact with other molecules in precise and predictable ways, to design nanoscale systems for a wide range of applications, including drug delivery, biosensing, nanomedicine, and biomaterials.
